DOTI: JUNE 21 – The ward office of village municipality-5 Kadamandau in the eastern part of the district has been locked. The locals have locked the playground saying that it is being constructed in an unsuitable place by forming a single consumer committee.

A budget of Rs. 3 million was allocated for the construction of village level playground. Khadak Saud, a local, informed that the locals locked the playground after a dispute arose over the construction of the playground.

The locals have demanded that the work should be started only after the dispute is resolved, the consumer committee should be reshuffled and the ground should be constructed in a place suitable for all. The locals allege that the playground, which is being constructed in the community forest, is being constructed without the recommendation of the ward office.

Ward Chairman Padma Bahadur Dhanuk informed that the locals have locked the playground saying that it should be built in the community forest near the house of the village chairman. Another local, Gambhir Khadka, said that the dispute started due to the hasty start of the scheme by the village municipality towards the end of mid-July. -RSS
