7 lakh cash including 18 kg marijuana recovered, 6 arrested including three Indians
BIRATNAGAR: JUNE 20 – Police have arrested six people, including three Indian nationals, involved in drug trafficking and sale of cannabis. Umesh Yadav, 40, of Dewanganj-1, Sunsari, Rudra Rai, 32, of Dhankuta Shahidbhumi Rural Municipalitya-1 and Surya Rai, 45, of Sumnima Chowk, Dharan Sub-Metropolis-13 have been identified by the team.
Similarly, 19-year-old Sonu Kumar Yadav of Araria Forbesganj, 28-year-old Jayaram Yadav of Araria Pirpaghat Bishanpur and 30-year-old Prince Bichitar Kumar alias Ranjit of Araria Narpathganj Sonapur have also been arrested.
The police team deployed on the basis of special information has recovered Rs. 716,600 in cash and Rs. 2,000 Indian rupees in cash from the arrested persons.
According to DSP Man Bahadur Rai of the District Police Office, Morang, a Maruti van (Ko 1 Cha 2412) used in smuggling cannabis and 18 kg of cannabis hidden in a bush at Rampur of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-6 were also recovered.
Among the arrested is Surya Rai, a van driver. It is stated that further investigation is underway into the drug case against the six arrested persons.
