Free ambulance service to Covid patients in Sirijangha, Taplejung

TAPLEJUNG: MAY 25 – The Sirijangha Rural Municipality is going to provide free ambulance service if the patients of Covid have to be taken elsewhere for treatment. The village municipality has stated that free ambulance service will be provided to the patients if they cannot be treated at the temporary Covid Hospital in Tellok.

“We are working to the best of our ability to prevent and control the growing number of infections, to increase the services of all health facilities by adding some equipment to the health care of the general public, to encourage health workers to work in it, to provide free ambulance and nutritious food to Covid patients.” It has also been decided to give ‘, said village chairman Tikaram Gurung. According to him, vital monitors for measuring high blood pressure, oxygen levels and pulse rate will be procured immediately for 10 subordinate health institutions.

Similarly, the village municipality has decided to provide 50 percent increase in the monthly salary scale to the doctors, health workers, office assistants and ambulance drivers working in the five-bed temporary Covid Hospital at Tellok Primary Health Center.

It has been decided to deploy a team of health workers in tole as per the need against the infection, to provide monthly communication expenses to the in-charges of the health institutions and the chairperson of the toll development organization, said Santosh Ghimire, chief administrative officer of the village.

The village municipality will manage the food for the patients in the temporary Covid Hospital and the infected patients in the home isolation will be provided nutritious food at the rate of Rs 2,000. It is said that the medicine package will be provided to the patients who are still in home isolation through the health workers on the recommendation of the doctor. The village municipality has stated that it has decided to provide Rs. 20,000 for the funeral in case of death due to infection.
