CONGO: MAY 25 – The death toll from a volcanic eruption in Congo has risen to at least 32. Mount Nyiragongo in the northern Congo province of Kivu erupted on Saturday night. At least 15 people were killed on Sunday.

However, at least 32 locals were killed, according to provincial government officials. Many people are said to have died trying to escape the eruption after the volcano erupted on the mountain.

Authorities in Congo say Mount Nyiragongo has exploded and is trying to flee. While fleeing, some people had an accident while others died while escaping from the jail in the area.

The death toll from the blast has risen to 32, with most of those killed in the crash, provincial officials told local media. -RSS
