The Corona test of Nepalis entering Nepal from India has been stopped
KATHMANDU: MAY 25 – The long-running lack of antigen kits has affected the ongoing tests at the health desk set up by the Birgunj Municipal Corporation near Shankaracharya Gate.
Although more than 25 Nepalis enter Birgunj through India daily, the Corona test could not be conducted due to lack of kits, said Samula Ansari, in-charge of the health desk. He said, “In the absence of kits, only normal fever is measured now.” He said that if any symptoms of Corona were seen, he would be sent to the same district for treatment.
The corporation has stated that there is a lack of antigen kit in the health desk established in the customs area. KMC chief Bijay Sarawgi said that there was a problem as the district public health office had not provided the kit so far. It is said that PCR test could not be done. Swab collection is also closed at the health desk. Similarly, 10 to 15 pick-up trucks arrived from India daily but the test has not been done yet.
