Impact of cyclone on Tuesday, urges mountaineers to be vigilant
KATHMANDU: MAY 24 – Due to the cyclone that has turned into a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal in East Central, there is a possibility of wind, rain and snow in different parts of Nepal from Tuesday. The meteorological department under the Department of Water and Meteorology has projected that the low-pressure area has turned into a cyclone today and will turn into a very strong cyclone by Tuesday.
Due to the system, there is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall in most parts of the country on Tuesday afternoon. The department has requested the mountaineers to be vigilant according to the weather for a few days from Tuesday as there is a possibility of wind, snow and rain in the high mountainous areas.
Light to moderate rain is expected in many parts of the country from Wednesday. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in a few places in State No. 1, State No. 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini and in one or two places in Karnali and Far Western State on Thursday.
The department is requested to take necessary precaution as there is a possibility of thunder, lightning, storm and hail in this weather. The Division has been continuously monitoring this system and is updating it regularly accordingly. -RSS
