24 arrested for illegal fishing in Narayani

CHITWAN: MONDAY, MAY 24, 2021 – Chitwan National Park has arrested 24 people for illegal fishing. They were arrested while fishing in the Narayani River using a restricted preparation net.

According to Lokendra Adhikari, information officer of the park, they were arrested from Narayani bank in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-26 at around 3:00 this morning. A Bolero jeep, two scooters, two quintals of fish and 44 ready-made nets were recovered from them. The park has informed that they will be prosecuted under the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act 2029 BS. -RSS
