UML Standing Committee meeting at 4 p.m.
KATHMANDU: MONDAY, MAY 24, 2021 – CPN (UML) has convened a standing committee meeting. A meeting has been called at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar at 4 pm today. UML party office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said the meeting would discuss the upcoming budget, the party’s explanation and the Far-Western state government.
He said that an explanation would also be sought from the lawmakers who signed the writ petition filed in the Supreme Court along with the government’s claim on behalf of the opposition alliance. “The writ petition filed in the Supreme Court claiming the government led by the opposition Congress will be signed by some party leaders and MPs today. The signatories will be asked for further clarification, ”he said.
A meeting of the standing committee held on Jestha 8 had sought clarification from 11 people including party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal. The party has set a deadline today to submit its explanation. -RSS
