Nine patients in the same house after eating wild mushrooms
SANKHUWASABHA: SUNDAY, MAY 23 , 2021 – Nine members of the same family have fallen ill after eating wild mushrooms in Yaphu, Silichong Rural Municipality-5 of Sankhuwasabha. Nine people from two houses in Silichong-5 have fallen seriously ill after eating mushrooms brought from the forest last Friday, said ward chairman Ishwor Kulung.
The condition of eight out of nine people who fell ill after eating wild mushrooms is critical, said Ward Chairman Kulung.
According to Ward Chairman Kulung, nine members of the family, including Buddha Bahadur Rai and his mother Buddhimaya Rai, fell ill after eating wild mushrooms.
His sons Mahendra, Birendra, Shahdev, youngest daughter-in-law, daughter, granddaughter and grandson are also among the sick. They were brought to District Hospital Sankhuwasabha for treatment on Saturday after falling ill after eating wild mushrooms on Friday night. They were admitted to the Yaphu Basic Health Care Unit on Friday after his family started vomiting after eating mushrooms picked from the forest, said Ward Chairman Kulung.
They were taken to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Sunsari after seeing health problems on their kidney and liver said Sundarshyam, chief physician of the district hospital, Sankhuwasabha. -RSS
