Oxygen plant being set up at Chautara Hospital

SINDHUPALCHOWK: FRIDAY, MAY 21, 2021 – An oxygen plant will be set up at District Hospital Chautara on the special initiative of Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota. The speaker has taken special initiative to set up an oxygen plant in coordination with the Ministry of Health, Population and Finance as per the demand of the hospital as there is acute shortage of oxygen for treatment as the number of people infected with Covid is increasing in the district due to the second wave of Covid-19.

According to the Speaker’s Secretariat, the work of setting up the plant has been started through correspondence and coordination between the two ministries.

The hospital had written to the Department of Health Services demanding immediate setting up of an oxygen plant after the district hospital and other health institutions were in dire need of oxygen. The District Health Office, Sindhupalchowk, had demanded immediate provision of 2,000 antigen kits and oxygen for the patients. The secretariat of the speaker has insisted that the work of setting up an oxygen plant will take shape in the next few weeks. -RSS
