13 killed in Pakistan bus accident


ISLAMABAD: THURSDAY, MAY 20, 2021 – At least 13 people have been killed in a bus accident in Pakistan’s southern Sindh province.
According to police, more than 30 others were injured in the accident on Thursday morning. The bus heading to Karachi, the capital of Sindh, from Multan in Punjab province crashed, said Irfan Samo, a senior police officer in Sukkur.
Though the investigation into the accident is said to be ongoing, local media quoted the eyewitness as saying that the driver ran the bus at high speed on the winding highway.
The injured have been admitted to local hospitals. Parvez Akhtar, chief of the Rohri Hospital, said six people died on the spot and others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Akhtar said the condition of the six was critical. The dead and injured are all from Multan. -XINHUA
