Four killed as bus falls from Daunne

NAWALPARASI: WEDNESDAY, MAY 19, 2021 – Four persons were killed when a passenger bus met with an accident at Daunne of Nawalparasi on the East-West Highway. The bus met with an accident near Khursani Khola of Daunne Forest at Bardaghat-4 on the East-West Highway at around 6 this morning.

According to the District Traffic Police Office, the bus fell 200 meters from the road. Chief Police Inspector at the Traffic Police Office Basudev Nepal informed that the bus (Na 5 Kha 2713) left for Rukum West from Machhapokhari in Kathmandu met with an accident. The deceased have been identified as Kalpana Pun, 27, of Triveni Rural Municipality-6 and Dhanraj Gharti of Sisne Rural Municipality-4.

There were about 58 passengers in the bus and 49 of them were rescued from the spot and sent to the local Chisapani Hospital and Sanjeevani Hospital, said Raju Lama, spokesperson of the District Police Office. Five passengers of the bus are safe.
