Oxygen concentrator machine support to Tokha
KATHMANDU: TUESDAY, MAY 18, 2021 – Oxygen concentrator machine has been provided to Tokha Municipality of Kathmandu. NIC Asia Bank has provided three oxygen concentrator machines at Tokha in the northern part of Kathmandu at a time when the second phase Corona infection is increasing rapidly with new variants.
On Monday, the bank’s chief executive officer Roshan Kumar Neupane handed over the materials to the chief lighting officer of the municipality. During the program, Neupane informed that the bank has provided assistance to Tokha Municipality for controlling the Corona epidemic under its social responsibility program.
The machine was handed over to Tokha Chandeshwori Primary Health Center on Monday, said Bachchuraj Basyal, spokesperson of the municipality. With the help of this machine, even a small amount of assistance will be provided for the production of oxygen in Tokha. Keeping in view the Covid-19 epidemic, the municipality is giving priority to the collection of health items and setting up of oxygen plants.
A few days ago, Save the Children donated Rs. 650,000 worth of health items for the health center. The materials have been donated to the hospital through Deputy Chief Gyan Maya Dangol. There are currently 5,695 infected corona in Tokha. The municipality has stated that 905 of them are actively infected. Tokha has so far tested 6,745 PCRs and 1,197 antigens. Twelve people have lost their lives due to corona in Tokha so far. -RSS
