Airlines bringing oxygen cylinders in full swing
KATHMANDU: TUESDAY, MAY 18, 2021 – The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines is bringing oxygen cylinders to Nepal from different countries at a time when it is difficult to treat Covid-19 patients in different hospitals of the country due to lack of oxygen.
The Corporation’s Wide Body A330 ship has brought essential health supplies including oxygen cylinders from China and Oman. The aircraft of the corporation has brought 975 oxygen cylinders from Beijing to Kathmandu on Sunday and Monday.
According to General Manager of the Corporation Dim Prakash Poudel, 400 and 575 oxygen cylinders and 157 oxygen concentrators have been brought in two days respectively. There are plans to bring oxygen cylinders and other health supplies from China through two more flights. The corporation had earlier brought 400 units of oxygen cylinders and 10 units of ventilators from China to Kathmandu.
All these materials have been given to Nepal by the Chinese government as a grant. In addition to 2,000 oxygen cylinders from the Chinese government, the Nepali NRN ICC in China will bring 100 units, 76 units with the assistance of a Nepali and other Chinese nationals in China, 27 units by the Hongxi Group and 110 units with the help of Karuna Foundation.
Last Saturday, the corporation had brought 560 oxygen cylinders to Kathmandu with the help of the Non-Resident Nepali Association and the Nepali Embassy in Oman.
