Police are taking action on those violating the lockdown

KANCHANPUR: TUESDAY, MAY 18, 2021 – The Kanchanpur police have started taking action on the people and vehicles violating the lockdown called by the government for controlling the Corona Virus. Police have taken action against 5,513 pedestrians and 9,286 vehicles violating the lockdown in Kanchanpur from Baisakh 16 to Monday evening, said Amar Bahadur Thapa, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

“Action has been taken against those who violated the lockdown, from the dairy industry to the wedding party,” Thapa said. “Police are actively working in the district to enforce the lockdown.” He said that the operator was taken under control after he was found selling liquor in the dairy industry in Mahendranagar and health security vigilance was not maintained.

“Two people at the mart have been fined Rs 600 by the chief district officer under the Infectious Diseases Act, 2020,” Thapa said. He said that even before the start of the second wave in Corona, the police had been imposing fines on people who did not pay attention to health care including masks. Kanchanpur Police has been working to send Nepalis returning from India to their destination from Gaddachauki to Dokebazar of Gauriphanta. -RSS
