Mechi Provincial Hospital receives Rs 90 million from Federal Government
JHAPA: TUESDAY, MAY 18, 2021 – In its attempt to upgrade health care services in view of Covid-19, Mechi Provincial Hospital at Bhadrapur is to receive Rs 90 million from the Federal Government for the management of ventilators, oxygen plant and oxygen tank.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently decided to allocate more than Rs 2.95 billion for 26 hospitals and nine provincial hospitals across the country.
Chairman of Mechi Provincial Hospital Somnath Portel said that the amount to be given for Mechi Provincial Hospital would be released from the Social Development Ministry of State 1.
With the surge in Covid-19 patents in the recent days, the hospital is having difficulties for the treatment of Covid-19 patients for lack of ventilator and oxygen supplies.
Meanwhile, Chief Administrative Officer of Arjundhara Municipality Mahendra Kumar Khamyahang succumbed to Corona Virus on Monday, Chief District Officer of Jhapa Shrawan Kumar Timilsina said. Under-Secretary Khamyahang was 50.
Chief Administrative Officer Khamyahang was tested positive to the Corona Virus on April 23 when he returned to Jhapa district after receiving an ambulance donated by Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
After testing positive to Corona Virus, Khamyahang stayed in home isolation for some days and then in the isolation centre set up by the municipality. After having difficulties in breathing, Khamyahang was admitted to B&C Hospital in the district. -RSS
