Urge to help Nepal in the fight against Covid-19
KATHMANDU: THURSDAY, MAY 13, 20221 – Nepal’s Ambassador to the European Union Gehendra Rajbhandari has requested the President of the European Commission to assist Nepal in its fight against COVID-19.
In a brief meeting with the chairperson of the commission, Ursula von der Leyen, after presenting her credentials on Wednesday, Ambassador Raj Bhandari apprised her of the crisis Nepal is facing due to COVID-19 and requested for assistance, according to the Nepali Embassy in Brussels.
In response to his request for supplies of vaccines, essential medicines and life-saving medicines, the commission’s chairman assured that it would assist Nepal in its fight against the epidemic through the EU mechanism, the embassy said.
On behalf of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Ambassador Rajbhandari extended his best wishes to the President. – RSS
