600 oxygen cylinders will be brought from Muscat on Saturday
KATHMANDU: THURSDAY, MAY 13, 2021 – Nepal Airlines, the national flag carrier, is to bring 600 oxygen cylinders from Muscat, Oman. The Corporation’s Wide Body A330 is preparing to leave for Muscat next Saturday to take the oxygen cylinder received with the help of the Non-Resident Nepali Association and the Nepali Embassy in Oman.
General Manager of the Corporation Dimprakash Poudel informed that oxygen cylinders will be brought from Muscat on Saturday and about 400 units of oxygen concentrator, 400 cylinders and other health items collected in Beijing, China will be brought on the same evening. According to him, besides cylinders, preparations are being made to bring eight oxygen generators from China. The ship of the corporation will be sent to Beijing for that purpose.
Posting on social media on Wednesday, NRNA president Kumar Pant said that the organization was trying to supply 100 oxygen concentrators from China and 550 cylinders from Oman to Kathmandu by Saturday when it was difficult to deliver oxygen to corona patients in Nepal.
He said that after Oman, 550 cylinders would be produced every day and a wide body A330 ship would be sent to Beijing every day. The corporation has stated that all the ships of the corporation are ready to bring the goods that may be available elsewhere. The corporation is confident that the oxygen problem will be solved in the next 10-12 days with the active participation of all the concerned bodies of the Government of Nepal.
The corporation’s wide-bodied ship has already brought 400 items of oxygen cylinders, 10 units of ventilators and other medical supplies to Kathmandu. Health supplies including oxygen cylinders have been brought from China at the request of the Ministry of Health and Population and in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. – RSS
