UML Standing Committee meeting to resolve disputes within the party
KATHMANDU: THURSDAY, MAY 13, 2021 – A meeting of the Standing Committee of the CPN (UML) has started at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar to discuss the formation of a new government and dispute management within the party. The President has given time till 9 pm tonight to form a new government with the support of two or more parties as no vote of confidence was cast in favor of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the party KP Sharma Oli in the special session of the House of Representatives on Baisakh 27.
Dispute within the UML has reached a new stage after 28 lawmakers, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, were absent from the meeting. The UML’s top leadership has become serious about party unity after Nepali lawmakers prepared to resign in a bid to support the opposition coalition in forming a new government. It is said that a meeting will be held between Chairman Oli and Leader Nepal today if the meeting brings a proposal with flexibility. – RSS
