KATHMANDU: THURSDAY, MAY 13, 2021 – Patients undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center in Kathmandu are at risk. During the epidemic of Covid-19 infection, like other hospitals, the lives of the patients undergoing treatment are at risk due to extreme lack of oxygen in trauma.
The director of the trauma center, Dr. Santosh Poudel and Bhuwan KC, a member of the Covid-19 management committee, have asked for oxygen assistance. ‘105 patients are being treated with oxygen at the National Trauma Center. But tonight, the director of the hospital, Dr. Santosh Poudyal, along with the ambulance, was able to provide oxygen only till 7 o’clock in the morning, Bhuwan KC has written on social media.
The trauma center needs 400 cylinders of oxygen daily, but now only 100 cylinders are available. CCMC, a member of the management committee, said that the CCMC has set a quota of 150 but it is difficult to get cylinders according to that quota. They have called on the CCMC to provide oxygen and save the lives of the people.
