34 die of infection in Bagmati on the same day
KATHMANDU: WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, 2021 – In Bagmati, 34 people have died in a single day due to Corona infection. According to the statistics released by the Ministry of Social Development, a total of 18 people, including 11 women and seven men, were killed in Kathmandu alone, including state assembly member and UML leader Pashupati Chaulagain.
According to the ministry, four infected have died in Lalitpur, three in Bhaktapur, two each in Chitwan, Dolakha and Sindhuli and one each in Rasuwa, Ramechhap and Sindhupalchowk. At the same time, the number of deaths due to corona infection in Bagmati has reached 1,653, said Dr Purushottam Raj Sedai, spokesperson of the Ministry of Social Development.
In the last 24 hours, 4,655 people have been infected with Corona in Bagmati. Of the confirmed cases, 2,788 are from Kathmandu, 602 from Lalitpur, 537 from Bhaktapur, one from Rasuwa, 73 from Nuwakot, 115 from Dhading, 124 from Chitwan, 47 from Sindhuli, 116 from Makwanpur, 24 from Ramechhap, 15 from Dolakha, 155 from Kavre and 58 from Sindhupalchowk.
The number of active infected people in Bagmati is 53,375. Of them, 2,481 are undergoing treatment in institutional isolation, 378 in HDU operated by various hospitals, 698 in ICU, 220 in ventilator and 49,598 are living in home isolation, according to the Ministry of Social Development. – RSS
