New rules of Prohibitory Order: What is being tightened?
KATHMANDU: WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, 2021 – A prohibitory order was issued in the Kathmandu Valley on Baisakh 16. After that, the prohibitory order was extended for another week on Baisakh 22 and till 12 noon on Baisakh 29. Two more weeks have been added after the transition rate did not decrease.
Now the prohibitory order is being tightened. Banks and financial institutions will be allowed to open only 25 percent branch offices in Kathmandu Valley. Banking transactions should be conducted electronically as much as possible.
Similarly, the central offices of banks and financial institutions should make arrangements to operate using only 20 percent manpower. The order issued on Tuesday after a joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur on Tuesday stated that banks and financial institutions should be run with less manpower.
As per the order, the details have to be given to Nepal Rastra Bank and District Administration Office. According to Kali Prasad Parajuli, a resident of Kathmandu, it has been requested to operate fewer branches and manpower banks and financial institutions to reduce the risk of Corona.
In case of operation of vehicles of banks and financial institutions, limited vehicle passes will have to be issued and the details will have to be given to the Central Bank and District Police Office. The central bank has already directed to operate banks and financial institutions using less manpower.
