Two killed as truck falls in Marshyangdi
KATHMANDU: TUESDAY, MAY 11, 2021 – Two people have died when a truck fell into the Marshyangdi River. The deceased have been identified as Jay Kandel, 37, and Meen Kandel, 35, of Galkot-8, Baglung, according to the District Police Office, Tanahun.
The accident took place when a truck (Na 3 Kha 9973) heading towards Aanbu Khaireni of Tanahun from Muglin of Chitwan fell down about 100 meters from Aapchaur Ghumti in Anbu Khaireni Rural Municipality-4 Aina Pahara. Though the incident took place at night, the police was informed only today, said Yuvaraj Timalsina, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office.
The deceased has been identified as Jay Kandel, truck driver and Meen Kandel, co-driver, said Hira Kandel, brother-in-law of the deceased. He said that he has been living in Nawalparasi of Chitwan even though his village home is Baglung. According to him, the two brothers had gone to Pokhara after loading straw. Both the deceased are brothers of the same family. Both the deceased have been kept at Damauli Hospital for autopsy. – RSS
