One person was injured and a house was set on fire by lightning strike

OKHALDHUNGA: TUESDAY, MAY 11, 2021 – One person has been seriously injured in a lightning strike at Bilandu of Okhaldhunga district. Moti Bahadur BK of Bilandu Khanigaun of Champadevi Rural Municipality-9 was injured in a lightning strike on Monday afternoon. The critically injured BK is undergoing treatment from a local health worker.

Similarly, the house of Khadga Bahadur Karki of Okhreni in Champadevi Rural Municipality-9 has been destroyed by lightning at 3:15 pm. According to Shiva Kattel, Inspector at the District Police Office, Okhaldhunga, the fire damaged property, food, clothes and utensils inside the house.

The fire that started at 3:15 pm was brought under control by the police and locals at 5 pm. Lightning is causing huge loss of life and property in Likhu and Champadevi areas of the district this year. – RSS
