Wide body aircraft to take oxygen cylinder flying to Beijing today
KATHMANDU : MONDAY, MAY 10, 2021 – The wide body A-330 aircraft of the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines) is going to the Chinese capital Beijing tonight to get essential health supplies from China.
Wide-body aircraft to take oxygen cylinders and ventilators subsidized by the Chinese government are about to fly to Beijing, the corporation said. The wide body ship will bring 400 units of oxygen cylinders and 20 units of ventilators from China to Nepal. For this purpose, the Corporation’s wide body ship will depart Beijing at 11:30 pm and land at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2:35 pm on Tuesday.
Spokesperson of the corporation Karishma Shrestha informed that the corporation is sending a wide body ship to take health supplies including oxygen cylinders from China as per the request of the Ministry of Health and Population and coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. He said that even though it was said to bring 20 units of ventilators in today’s flight, only 10 units of ventilators have been updated with the corporation so far.
Spokesperson Shrestha said that the corporation is ready to take essential health supplies at any time if there is any directive from the government in the current disaster situation. China will subsidize 20,000 oxygen cylinders. – RSS
