Death toll from COVID-19 infection in Karnali has reached 82
KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, MAY 9, 2021 – The death toll from Corona Virus infection in Karnali has reached 82. The death toll from the second wave of Corona virus outbreaks has risen sharply since the start of the new year, according to the health service directorate.
The death toll from the second wave so far is more than double that of the first wave. Last year, 40 people died in Karnali from Jestha to Chaith, but by the beginning of the second wave, the number had risen to 82.
According to the directorate, out of 102,993 people who have undergone RT PCR so far, 10,633 have been confirmed Corona. Similarly, Corona infection has been found in 1,982 out of 10,206 people tested by antigen method. Of those infected, 8,044 have been discharged from various isolations and hospitals, while there are now 3,818 active infected people in Karnali. – RSS
