Meeting with prisoners closed

DOTI: SUNDAY, MAY 9, 2021 – Meetings with inmates at the district jail have been suspended. The prison administration has stated that the meeting with the inmates has been stopped due to the risk of spreading Corona infection. Lal Bahadur Bogati of the office said that the meeting with the relatives of the inmates was closed saying that the inmates could infect with Covid-19 and there would be a risk.

He said, “Corona infections are increasing daily in the district. Relatives of the inmates also come to visit the jail. We have closed the meeting with inmates until there is a comfortable situation.

He said that the prisoners who were brought from outside without Corona test were also stopped along with the meeting. The prison administration has been keeping the inmates in the jail only after conducting Corona test.

The jail administration has made an arrangement to keep the inmates sent by the district court in quarantine for 15 days as soon as they arrive. There are 48 inmates in the jail, including two women and 46 men. – RSS
