Action against Communist Party leaders for adopting inflammatory lifestyle in China
BEIJING: SUNDAY, MAY 9, 2021 – China’s top anti-corruption body has said it has cracked down on leaders and activists of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for engaging in inflammatory and seditious lifestyles.
According to a statement released by the Central Discipline Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC), 270 people have been executed since the beginning of the year.
Nine out of every 10 cases are related to provocation and pleasure. Details published on the commission’s website state that most of the people involved in the case took expensive goods, cash gifts or gifts.
Of the published cases, 46.8 percent are related to breach of discipline. Major Chinese festivals, including the Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Day and National Day, have been found to have breached discipline by party leaders.
The commission has recommended punishment for corrupt officials and warned some of them. In China, party leaders tend to be officials in most government bodies. – XINHUA
