86 doctors and health workers infected


CHITWAN: SATURDAY, MAY 8, 2021 – Doctors and health workers working for the prevention of Covid-19 have started getting infected. According to the Health Office, Chitwan, 86 people including doctors, nurses, health workers and staff working in the district hospitals have been infected with the second wave of Covid-19.
According to Public Health Officer Gitanjali Dhakal, there are 22 in Bharatpur Hospital, 22 in Chitwan Medical College, 19 in Purano Medical College and 16 in BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital.
Similarly, doctors and health workers of Baghauda Hospital Madi, Rapti Hospital Bhandara, Bakulahar Hospital Ratnanagar and Kalika Nagar Hospital have been infected, he said.
According to him, the infected doctors and health workers are now in isolation. Some of them have recovered and returned home. According to the office, even the police chiefs deployed in the district to control Covid-19 disease have been infected.
In Baisakh alone, 2,080 people were infected in the district, out of which 17 died, according to the office. At present, an average of seven infected people die daily in the district. Most of them are from out of the districts. – RSS
