Wide body flying to Beijing to get oxygen cylinder

KATHMANDU: SATURDAY, MAY 8, 2021 – The widebody A330 aircraft of the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines) is going to Beijing, the capital of China on May 10 to collect essential health supplies from China. The corporation said it was preparing to fly to Beijing with a wide-bodied aircraft to take oxygen cylinders and ventilators donated by the Chinese government.

The widebody aircraft will bring 400 oxygen cylinders and 20 ventilators from China to Nepal. For this purpose, the corporation’s widebody aircraft will depart Beijing at 11:30 am on Monday and land at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2:35 pm the next day.

Dimprakash Poudel, general manager of the corporation, said that the corporation was preparing to send a wide-bodied aircraft to take health supplies including oxygen cylinders from China as per the request of the Ministry of Health and Population.

“The Ministry of Health has written to the Ministry of Finance to bring health supplies from China. We (the corporation) have started our preparations to send the aircraft,” he said. China will subsidize 20,000 oxygen cylinders.
