KATHMANDU: FRIDAY, MAY 7, 2021 – The district-level Covid Management Center (DCCMC) has decided to allow the transportation of food and construction materials from Wednesday, citing a food crisis in the district as the rate of corona infection increases. A meeting of the stakeholders held at the District Administration Office on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Center Coordinator and Chief District Officer Ganesh Acharya has decided to continue air flights to prevent food crisis in the district.

The decision was taken at a meeting with representatives of private airlines Sita Air, Tara Air and Summit Air. According to the Infectious Diseases Act 2020 and Local Administration Act 2028, a district-wide ban has been imposed on the passengers from Nepalgunj and Surkhet on Monday. All flights were canceled.

The meeting has decided that the goods brought by the airlines will be handed over to the concerned persons and bodies only after Baisakh 28. It has been said that the loader has to wear a pipset to unload the food and construction and daily necessities brought by the private airline.

Sita Air’s three flights
Sita Air has flown three flights as per the decision of DCCMC after the ban was issued. Air Humla station in-charge Chhepal Lama informed that Sita Air had brought rice from Nepal Food and Trade Company from Surkhet and Nepalgunj. – RSS
