Singer Prem Dhoj Pradhan is no more

KATHMANDU: THURSDAY, MAY 6, 2021 – Senior singer and musician Prem Dhoj Pradhan has passed away. Pradhan, who was admitted to Sundhara-based Neuro and General Hospital due to chest problems, died on Thursday. According to lyricist Bhupendra Khadka, Pradhan died at around 2:45 in the morning.

Meanwhile, former president of the Musicians’ Association Laxman Shesh has also confirmed the death of Pradhan while singer Pramod Kharel has also confirmed the death of Pradhan.

Born in 1994 in Chautara of Sindhupalchok district to father Ratna Dhojj Pradhan and mother Pranadevi Pradhan, there was a musical atmosphere in his home. His grandfather Narayan Krishna Pradhan and grandfather Uttar Dhoj Pradhan were deeply interested in classical music.

There used to be daily musical programs in his house. Due to this, his interest in music has also increased. Known as one of the most famous and stylish singers of the time, Pradhan’s hit songs like ‘Ghumtima Naau Hai’, ‘Timilai Achel Kahan Dekhun’, ‘Goreto Yo Gaonko’, ‘Para Laijau Phoolharu’ are still heard a lot.

Pradhan has also sung many songs with Indian singers. Pradhan, who has sung about 700 songs in his lifetime, has filled the same number of songs with music.
