Remdesivir sold at higher prices
KATHMANDU: TUESDAY, MAY 4, 2021 – The Department of Drug Management is going to take action if it is found that the medicine used for Covid-19 patients is being sold at a higher price.
Director General of the Department, Basanta Bhattarai, while issuing the notice, said that action would be taken as there were complaints of selling the drug at a higher price. He said that action would be taken against those who sell more than the maximum retail price without taking into account the minimum human sensitivities due to artificial shortage of Remdesivir used for patients in case of spread of infection.
The department has also urged all not to sell / distribute more than the maximum retail price and not to buy more than the specified retail price. It has been found that Remdesivir is being sold at a higher price now that the infection is increasing. It costs about five thousand rupees for a single dose of remediation.
