The ICS meeting at the Ministry of Health on Sunday decided to give the PCR lab of a hospital with a capacity of at least 100 beds a test recognition for the purpose of going abroad.
Following the decision of the meeting, the Health Emergency Operations Center under the Ministry of Health and Population has sent a letter to Nobel stating that the PCR test for the purpose of going abroad has been approved.
In a letter sent by Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, Chief of the Health Emergency Operations Center, it has been asked to make arrangements for PCR testing of those going abroad. Now, those who go abroad can have a PCR test at Nobel, said hospital director Dr Sunil Sharma.
Earlier, the government had only recognized the reports of government labs for going abroad and five labs in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Rupandehi. But now that the Nobel has been recognized, it will be easier for the people of Eastern Nepal.
