New feature added to Nagarik app

KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, MAY 2, 2021 – The new full version of the Nagarik app brought by the government has been made public on Sunday. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the new version at a program organized by the Ministry of Communications on the occasion of the 4th National Information and Communication Technology Day.

What are the new features?

Permanent account number (PAN) can be obtained from the Nagarik app which is currently in operation. Similarly, the so-called ‘Police Clearance Report’ can be used to get the details of Nagarik Investment Fund, Employees’ Provident Fund, Social Security Fund and PAN.

To avail the services of health insurance program, complaints can be lodged through Hello Government. However, it is mandatory to use a mobile number in one’s own name to operate this Nagarik app.

The Nagarik app has been developed in line with the government’s policy of digitizing government and public administrative service systems. Recently, the service system of some areas has been completely and some of the service systems have been partially converted to non-service system.
