Kathmandu Valley’s prohibitory order is more stringent, such is the new rule


KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, MAY 2, 2021 – The ban on Kathmandu Valley will be tightened from today. The ban has been tightened as the movement of vehicles and citizens on the road has not decreased.
The Corona Prevention and Control Center for Management and Coordination (CCMC) has decided to run one-fourth of its staff in addition to essential services. In the decision of the meeting held on Saturday, it has been said that one-fourth of the branches of banks and financial institutions in Kathmandu Valley and big cities will be staffed with one-fourth of the employees. The work will be facilitated by Nepal Rastra Bank.
In the case of Kathmandu Valley, the press pass issued by the Department of Information and Broadcasting and in the case of other districts, the press pass issued by the Chief District Officer will be valid. It has also been decided to operate the industries (factories, masks, sanitizers, soaps, gloves, oxygen, etc.) in compliance with the health standards, and to provide accommodation and food to the workers involved in public works.
According to the Secretariat of Deputy Prime Minister and Center Coordinator Ishwor Pokharel, the decision on Saturday clearly stated the origin and destination of the drivers and associates of the vehicles transporting construction materials of the project.
In the case of Kathmandu Valley, the Department of Tourism and Immigration, Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Police will jointly monitor the hotel quarantine, in other districts, the state and local level will set up a mechanism involving the concerned bodies and monitor the home quarantine at the local level. Foreign nationals who do not follow the rules will be sent to their home country immediately with fines.
It is mentioned that Nepalis who do not follow the rules of hotel quarantine will be fined according to the law and the hotel operator who is negligent in the management of hotel quarantine will be punished according to the prevailing law. Similarly, it is mentioned in the decision to request the mass media to broadcast / publish public awareness message against Covid and the concerned local level to conduct regular miking for Covid in Tole for public awareness.
