KATHMANDU: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28, 2021 – The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to provide free ambulances to bring the infected and other patients to the hospital. The decision was taken at a special executive meeting of the CPN (Maoist) held on Tuesday to discuss the reduction, prevention and control of the Corona virus.

“The Nepal Ambulance Service 102, which we have collaborated with, will transport the patients with covid positive to the hospital free of cost. Apart from this, 10 free ambulances have been arranged in different areas of the metropolis to take the patients with other problems to the hospital, said Bidhya Sundar Shakya, chief of the party.

It has been decided to operate toll free No. 1180 24 hours a day to solve the problems of the citizens. Similarly, it has been decided to mobilize teachers to raise awareness at the community level, disinfect risky places, and help in setting up isolation centers with oxygen therapy.

In the process of controlling and managing covid, the metropolis has allocated Rs. 1 lakh, it has been decided to send Rs. 75,000 to medium wards and Rs. 5 million to small wards.

The participants were of the view that the ward level disaster management committee should be mobilized in the current situation to carry out the work effectively and public awareness programs should be conducted for the control of the virus. -RSS
