Water ATM service at two places in Kathmandu
KATHMANDU: MONDAY, APRIL 26, 2021 – Water ATM service has been expanded in coordination with Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Kathmandu Valley Drinking Water Management Board.
A smart water vending machine (water ATM) has been set up at New Baneshwor and Sankha Park in Kathmandu on Monday.
Kathmandu Metropolitan Chief Bidya Sundar Shakya and Deputy Chief Hari Prabha Khadki inaugurated the event by setting up a water ATM in Baneshwor as well as a state-of-the-art toilet and water ATM in Sankha Park. The service has been expanded as per the plan to have water ATMs in 15 different places in Kathmandu at a cost of Rs 20 million, said Shakya.
He said that it will be expanded to the required places as per the demand of the people. Similarly, Shakya also expressed the view that the metropolis would place emphasis on the protection of public land.
The metropolis had signed an agreement with the Kathmandu Valley Drinking Water Management Board on Chaith 10, 2076 for water ATMs.
