Ministry of Health urges closure of oxygen-based industries

KATHMANDU: MONDAY, APRIL 26, 2021 – The Ministry of Health and Population has requested the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply to close down the industries for some days that use oxygen.

The Ministry of Health has written a letter to the Ministry of Industry requesting to close down the industry for some days to prevent oxygen deficiency in the treatment of Covid-19 infected.

Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari, Senior Assistant Administrator of the Ministry, informed that a letter was sent to the Ministry on Monday to close down such industries for some days to prevent such a situation in Nepal as the infected people are dying due to lack of oxygen in India.

In the letter, he said, “Black market of oxygen cylinders with oxygen should not be allowed to create embarrassment in the country by importing from abroad. Adequate oxygen and oxygen cylinders should be made available in the Nepali market. ‘It has been mentioned.

On Sunday, 28 infected people died on the same day and 3,122 new patients were found. So far, three lakh 119 infected, two lakh 77 thousand 573 have been cured and three thousand 164 have died in Nepal.
