Bus fare can be paid from NMB’s contactless card
KATHMANDU: MONDAY, APRIL 26, 2021 – NMB Bank has issued a contactless card for bus fares keeping in view the current environment and security requirements.
With the successful operation of various banking services including accounts through the Omnichannel from home, NMB Bank has agreed to cooperate with Fintech International to provide security from Covid as well as to build a cashleless society.
The bus fare will be automatically calculated from the card based on the distance covered by the passenger and the fare can be paid through the contactless card. Similar payment systems are being used in cities around the world. The bank has started this service with the objective of making it easier for the customers to pay the bus fare in the current unfavorable situation.
At present, this facility is being provided in 20 buses of United Transport and Fisheries Capital and there are plans to expand the service in collaboration with various other bus operators, the bank said. The bank says the service will be a milestone in the field of digital payments.
NMB Bank is currently providing high quality services through 181 branches, 136 ATMs, 9 extension counters across the country.
