Shortage of Oxygen in India
KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 2021 – Due to the lack of oxygen in many areas, including the Indian capital New Delhi, the infection of Covid-19 is becoming more frightening. According to the international media, the second wave of Covid is spreading rapidly in India and the problem for the treatment of the infected is getting worse and worse.
At least 20 people died at the Jaipur Golden Hospital in Delhi on Friday due to lack of oxygen. Government hospitals like Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital and private hospitals like Saroj and Fortis are also reported to be struggling with oxygen deprivation.
Some hospitals without help have appealed to the high court. Every hospital in the west, from Maharashtra and Gujarat to Haryana and Madhya Pradesh in the north, is facing a severe shortage of oxygen. Some hospitals in Uttar Pradesh have written ‘Oxygen out of stock’. The Lucknow hospital has started advising the infected to go to other hospitals.
Even small hospitals and nursing homes in Delhi have stopped taking Corona patients. Many patients in the city are queuing outside the oxygen filling center with their own oxygen cylinders.
Bouncers had to be called to control the crowd gathered outside the oxygen plant in Hyderabad. Recently, 22 patients died due to lack of oxygen at Nasik Dr. Zakir Hussain Hospital in Maharashtra. Oxygen leakage has been revealed in the hospital. While investigating the incident, the supply of oxygen was interrupted for about half an hour due to leakage of oxygen from the oxygen tanker.As a result, 22 patients died. Corona’s patients are dying while waiting for treatment.
Hospitals are struggling to save the infected. Citizens are appealing on social media demanding oxygen cylinders.
