Stopping Nepalis from entering India without PCR report
KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 2021 – Indian Security Force SSB has made PCR report mandatory for Nepalis entering Dharchula. Even though Nepalis have been allowed to come from Dharchula of India recently, India has tightened the rules for Nepalis going to Dharchula. Assistant Police Inspector Gagan Singh Bhatt of Khalanga Pulghat informed that PCR report has been made mandatory for Nepalis entering Dharchula from Sunday.
As per the health directive issued by the Uttarakhand government, it has been ordered that a report of corona negative within 72 hours must be made to enter Uttarakhand from other states. According to the directive, the report has been made mandatory by the Dharchula to prove that there is no Corona of the person crossing the suspension bridge connecting Nepal and India.
India has tightened border entry due to high Corona rates. Darchula does not have PCR testing equipment. In such a situation, Nepalis who reach the Indian market Dharchula for daily consumption have been in trouble since Sunday.
India had earlier tightened masks in the Dharchula market at a time when Corona infections were on the rise. India had never entered without a mask before. Similarly, markets and traffic in Indian territory have been closed since 2 pm. The market has been closed from 2 pm to 5 pm after a new variant of Corona was found in the Dharchula market area.
In the Indian market, the administration has tightened, but not yet in Darchula. Chief District Officer Siddharaj Joshi informed that a decision will be taken after the meeting on what to do in Nepal after India made PCR report mandatory for Nepalis in Dharchula. “We also have a meeting today to discuss security measures,” he said.

Stating that the Corona infection has increased in neighboring India, the district administration has decided to tighten the health standards in Darchula as well. Those who walk out of the house without wearing a mask will be punished. Chief District Officer Joshi informed that the administration has decided to take action against those who walk out without wearing masks.
A meeting of the District Crisis Management Center on Wednesday decided to take action as per the Infectious Diseases Act if found walking without wearing a mask, according to a statement issued by the administration.
The administration has said not to overcrowd to avoid the risk of Corona infection. It has also requested to keep a record of the movement of passengers coming from the border and to test the corona by antigen method at the passengers entering Nepal.
The meeting also called for mandatory use of sanitizers and hand masks in public places such as offices and shops to comply with public health standards. Similarly, the local level concerned has decided to make it mandatory to antigenize and manage the people entering Nepal from all the international borders in the district.
The meeting also stated that the health office will be allowed to start antigen test as a sample in the district and the entire local level will monitor the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.
Mask mandatory on public transport: Masks is made mandatory in public transport keeping in mind the Covid-19 infection. Stating that the rate of Corona infection has increased in Nepal recently, masks have been made mandatory in public transport for prevention and control.
A meeting held at the district administration office on Wednesday decided to make masks mandatory in public transport, manage physical distance and not to carry more passengers than the capacity, said Chief District Officer Joshi.
According to him, the meeting also decided to strictly follow the health standards in the public transport sector. He said that it has been decided to take immediate action against the passengers who do not wear masks in public transport and the vehicles carrying more passengers than their capacity.
The district administration office is holding discussions with various agencies to prevent and control the second wave of Corona virus infection. The meeting was attended by Darchula Chief District Officer Siddharaj Joshi, traffic police, transport businessmen and transport workers.
Rs. 200 for management of health care materials: The Mahakali Municipality has released budget for the management of health safety related materials in every school in the city. The municipality issued a public notice on Wednesday stating that the budget has been released at the rate of Rs. 200 per student for the management of students’ health care materials.
Stating that the risk of Corona virus infection has increased, the school has been instructed to run the school only by fully complying with the health safety standards. It has been requested through information to use masks and sanitizers in the educational institution and to manage hand washing with soapy water.
A statement issued by the Chief Administrative Officer of Mahakali Municipality, Dr. Bijay Bhurtel, said that the rules of measuring the temperature of the students in the school and contacting the nearest health facility if any one is found to be infected should be followed.
Similarly, the municipality has again instructed not to organize crowds, ceremonies and annual celebrations in such educational institutions. It has also been said that the school should be run in a crowded manner while conducting daily lessons and the school operation framework 2077 should be fully implemented. -RSS
