“There is no need to immediately lockdown, increase vigilance.”
KATHMANDU: SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 2021 – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that there is no immediate need for a nationwide locckdown. Speaking at a meeting of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC), Prime Minister Oli said that there was no need to lockdown the country right now.
After the CCMC’s ‘briefing’, the Prime Minister stressed on the need to strictly adhere to the health standards issued a few days ago. According to Khagraj Baral, Secretary to the Prime Minister and Office of the Council of Ministers, who participated in the briefing, the Prime Minister had stressed on the need to strictly enforce health standards at the local level to prevent corona infection. The CCMC had informed about the compliance of the health safety standards issued by the government on Baisakh 6, the status of the infection and the government’s preparations.
Similarly, the Prime Minister has instructed the CCMC to come up with a blueprint after discussing the steps to be taken by the government in the coming days. The government has made arrangements to run educational institutions in Kathmandu Valley and other districts through alternative means.
Similarly, masks and sanitizers have been provided in the vehicles. Arrangements have been made to prevent more than 25 people from gathering at entertainment venues and crowded places.
