KATHMANDU: FRIDAY, APRIL 23, 2021 – Kathmandu Medical College at Sinamangal in Kathmandu is going to conduct PCR test at a cost of Rs 1,500. KMC has reduced the PCR test fee from Friday when Corona infection is on the rise again in Nepal.

The government has now set a maximum fee of Rs 2,000 for PCR testing. KMC has stated that it has started testing PCR at a fee of Rs 500 less than the amount prescribed by the government. Earlier, KMC had been testing PCR at 1,999.

Dr. Sunil Sharma, President of KMC, informed that the PCR testing fee has been reduced to provide some relief to the general public in case of crisis as the infection of Corona virus, which has spread like a global epidemic, is on the rise again. “We are already conducting low-cost PCR tests,” said Dr. Sharma. “Corona infections are on the rise again. We have reduced the fees so that everyone can help in such a crisis. ‘

Dr. Sunil Sharma, the director of the prestigious Nobel Teaching Hospital in the East, has been the Chairman of KMC since last Bhadra. While the government had fixed the PCR test fee at Rs 4,400 for the Corona epidemic, Dr. Sharma had conducted PCR tests at KMC for Rs 2,500.

Dr. Sharma earned praise by arranging for PCR testing at a lower fee of Rs 1,900 than prescribed by the government. The government was forced to reduce the PCR test fee after it was criticized for charging higher fees. KMC, which has been conducting PCR tests for less than the fee prescribed by the government from the beginning, has now reduced the fee again to Rs 1,500. KMC has stated that the report will be given within six hours after the PCR test.
