Ventilator and ICU bed equipment missing
DHANKUTA: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 2021 – Ventilator and Intensive Care Unit ICU beds at District Hospital Dhankuta are missing.
The medical superintendent of the district hospital Dhankuta, Dr. Pujan Bishwakarma said.
The equipment is kept on the second floor of the hospital covered by canopy. Although equipment worth Rs. 16.5 million was brought to operate 10 ICU beds with 4 ventilators with the help of the Public Safety Fund of the Government of Nepal, it could not be connected due to lack of space and confusion. Bishwakarma explained.
The administrative space with some services of the hospital was shifted to the District Health Office building and the process of installing necessary equipment for ICU bed with ventilator was started. If 1 no. process was halted after the state’s Ministry of Social Development decided to move the current health office to the new building of the Women’s Development Office.
However, there is still a problem in connecting the equipment as the health office has not been shifted. The hospital has stated that there is a problem in relocating the office even though it has been contracted to build the necessary infrastructure to keep the ICU bed with ventilator.
