Now, action will be taken against those who throw masks indiscriminately
KATHMANDU: WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 2021 – After the spread of Covid-19 infection with new variants in the country, it has started tightening in Kathmandu Valley. Special monitoring has been started in compliance with the health safety standards through the local administration.
Earlier, masks were thrown everywhere in the streets. There was a fear of spreading the infection. Now, the Valley administration has implemented a new system to take action against those who throw such masks. It has been asked to pay more attention to the disposal of materials including masks used in the operation of means of transportation.
Now the mask to be immersed must be kept in a closed dustbin or plastic bag for five days. Only then should the immersion be done. Kathmandu Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli informed that action would be taken against those who disobeyed. Those who disobey the order given by the government will be punished according to the Infectious Diseases Act 2020.
It has also been said not to spit indiscriminately at home and in public places and not to throw used masks indiscriminately. As per the government order, the Kathmandu administration has started controlling humanitarian activities to prevent the transition in the valley. The Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal had taken an important decision on Monday to prevent and control the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic with the new variant.
