KATHMANDU: SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 2021 – Literary writer Shyam Das Vaishnav has passed away. A seeker of Nepali language and literature passed away at his home in Gyaneshwar on Friday evening.
The great poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota has published seven works including a collection of poems and lyric plays by Vaishnav, who is considered to be his dearest disciple (devotee). Vaishnav received the Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, Mahendra Pragya Award, Trimurti, Devkota Shatabdi, Bhanubhakta, Mukti and Nai Derunikh Pradeepti.
Born in Kathmandu on 5th of Shrawan, 1981, Vaishnav has a wife, three sons and four daughters. He has been suffering from mental illness since 2072 BS and has been buried at Pashupati Aryaghat.
