Corona confirmed among 59 returnees from India

KATHMANDU: SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 2021 – Corona infection has been confirmed in 59 people who returned home from India. According to Dipayal Rajpur of the state health department, at least 475 out of 1,045 people who returned to Nepal through the Gauriphanta border have tested positive for Corona.

Corona infection has been on the rise among the people of the far western states who have recently returned home from India for employment. Bir Bahadur Bista of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality-4 said that the locals have started panicking saying that the corona infection is increasing and the local health institutions have not been able to take significant steps to prevent Corona.

He said, “Corona is seen among the citizens returning from work in India. There has not been much initiative for prevention. What if there is no terror?” It is said that the locals of the district have not even built a quarantine to house the returnees from India and they have started going straight to their homes.

Due to the influx of people directly into the village, the number of Corona infections in the village has been increasing and the people living in the villages have started to suffer more than the corona can turn into an epidemic.

Although the local administration has decided to keep quarantine for 15 days for the citizens returning home from India, it is said that the non-compliance with the decision has created more problems.
