As the heat intensified, the mosquito outbreak in the Terai increased
SARLAHI: SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 2021 – With the onset of summer, the mosquito outbreak has increased in the Terai district including Sarlahi district headquarters Malangwa. Although the outbreak of mosquitoes has increased during the onset of summer season, the outbreak of mosquitoes has skyrocketed due to untimely spraying of medicines by the Malangwa Municipality.
Sundarshyam Yadav, a local of Malangwa, said that the possibility of people getting various diseases from mosquito bites is increasing as the municipality has not sprayed mosquito repellent in time. Another local Rajesh Paswan said that all the 12 wards of Malangwa Municipality should work together for sanitation management and reduction of mosquitoes.
Outbreak of mosquitoes has increased in Malangwa market area and Tole due to lack of proper sanitation. Bijay Sah, a local of Malangwa Municipality-2, said that the mosquito repellent was not affected by the medicated smoke sprayed by the municipality last year. Locals have demanded that the municipality buy effective medicine and spray it on time this year.
Locals estimate that the mosquito outbreak has increased due to lack of regular sanitation in the market area and toll settlement of Malangwa. They have demanded daily cleaning while Mayor Nirsal Sah said that the sanitation workers of his municipality are cleaning the city area regularly.
He also said that the medicine would be sprayed in the places where mosquitoes are more prevalent in his urban area this year as well. He said that all the city dwellers should be vigilant to prevent the outbreak of mosquitoes even though the municipality is doing its best. -RSS
