Unable to get a bed for treatment, the son lamented, “Kill my father with an injection.”
AGENCY: FRIDAY, APRIL 16, 2021 – After failing to treat a father infected with corona in India, a son is saddened by the need to inject and kill his father.
A 71-year-old man from Maharashtra put oxygen in an ambulance for his father’s treatment and searched for a hospital for three days.
He said that he would get treatment for his father, but he could not get a bed. Corona infection has created a frightening situation in India. Hospitals are full of patients. The hospital is facing shortage of beds and medical supplies.
Sagar Narshetti Bar from Maharashtra traveled to Maharashtra as well as neighboring states for his father’s treatment. But they could not find a hospital bed for treatment.
No matter which hospital you go to, the only answer is ‘the bed is not empty’. The patient’s son Sagar said, “I have been waiting for three days to get a bed in the hospital. Not a single bed has been found in any government or private hospital.”
We reached Mancherial in Telangana by ambulance but could not find a bed. They left an ambulance in front of Chandrapur Covid Hospital and appealed to the administration. The patient was admitted to the hospital but could not get a bed. Sagar says, “My father’s condition is so bad that I can’t even bring him home.”
